Rise and Shine Little Birdie.....!!!!!


 
A bird, nesting for weeks
Now it's finally time to fling and fly
It's been very very long and tiresome
To be curled up in the nest
It will take time, indeed
To sour as high as it used to do once
Chores, a lot of them not done for so long
Quotidian, it was to curl up, snuggle and repose
Now, it's time to set a new schedule
"Tables served with compeer will now be a dine of aloof."
Perplexed this little thing is,
To sneak a peek out of confortare
Inbred it wasn't of all this vantage
It's time, that made it a knack
But, let's take a leap now
Start afresh with a clean slate
For, the more it stays nested
The more it jolts with its being
Prowess, of it, to finally take a flight
To wander in the darkest forests,
to the highest peaks and trees
The view from there, the beauty,
the pulchritude, only seen by the
eyes those dare to glide above the horizon, that can only be earned by courage
Ughhhh!!! This is what it lectures itself about almost everyday
But the cocoon can never be cocoon for an entire life
It has to be a butterfly to hover
And now is the time!!!
Step up and step out, to bread which once was lost
Open the wings, flip-flap
Close the eyes
Smell the essence of mettle
And....... Jump!!!!
Adrenaline triggered, spinning uncontrollably
Trying to adjust with the blowing winds
Wings and winds squabbling for the "survival of the  fittest"
Attempts, to fly fine
Alas, all in vain
Not now, not just now to give up
It's too late to retreat
It has to try harder, it can't be lost in abyss, once again...!!!
So try even harder..!!!
Oohhh..!!! Look, my my, its taking hold on its flight
To the astonishment, it finally made it
Woaahh..!!! It's soaring high, playing with the wings
Such a beauty, its just a treat to the eyes to see the palm
It's hovering higher and higher, to make an epoch...!!

Twenty days of Ramadan… gone. I blinked and suddenly we’re here. The third Friday of Ramadan. When the month began, I had a clear picture in my head of what my Ramadan would look like. I had goals... real goals. I was going to wake up regularly for Tahajjud, read the Qur'an slowly with reflection, make long thoughtful duas, and keep distractions away as much as possible. I imagined a calm Ramadan where my days felt intentional and my nights felt deeply connected to Allah. I thought Ramadan would slow life down. Instead, life kept running and I kept trying to catch my breath. Work kept moving. Responsibilities stayed exactly where they were. Sleep schedules became unpredictable. Some days felt like a blur between suhoor, work, iftar, son's exams and trying to gather enough energy to make it through the next day. I kept telling myself I would slow down tomorrow.
